Food

Saving Money | Buying meat in bulk.

Hi All,

Although not specifically tips on taking photos of food, I simply wanted to pass on something I did yesterday that will save a family a lot of money in the long run.

I went to a local meat wholesaler and purchased a range of meats. Yearling Beef Tenderloin, Yearling Beef Striploin, Pork Sirloin and some Free Range Chicken. As you can read these are not cheap cuts of meat, well not when you buy it at Coles or Woolies?

Now not to scare you all but I spent $144 in total. Although I did not take a photo of the original slabs of meat, there was quite a lot for the money spent. I simply cut up the meat into some lovely steaks and so forth.

Below I will shows pictures of the packs I made up, and they were mostly made with the amount to feed 2 adults and 2 kids.

To get packs with very good quality meat, and at a good price can be hard. But let me tell you I made up 20 different packs of meat!! So you work it out, that works out to approximately $7.20 a pack. Not bad when in todays economy we are all trying to save a dollar.
